A Friday afternoon work meeting is not necessarily the highlight of the week. After lunch the weekend feeling usually sets in and it is preferable to start wrapping up, as apposed to gearing up.
If that is the only time slot available, however, you take it. But when the meeting ends up taking twice as long as planned, it is definitely unexpected. Especially if it’s because the person you met felt like a long lost friend and you just can’t stop sharing stories.
That’s exactly what happened this afternoon. Instead of a quick Friday afternoon meeting discussing the essentials, it turned into a lingering end of week rendezvous, proving that surprises do sometimes find us in the most unexpected places.
