The West Side Story came highly recommended by several people over the past few weeks, so I thought it would be a great Sunday afternoon treat for all the women in the family.
I had no idea what it was about and decided to leave it that way and experience it firsthand. And what an experience it was – we were all blown away by the voices, the performances, the set, the costumes – everything was faultless.
Three generations of ladies equally transfixed in a show of yesteryear. I suppose the essence of senseless hatred and unconditional love are themes that are as prevalent today as it were in the time of Romeo and Juliet and Tony and Maria.
Hopefully someday we will learn that hatred really is senseless and that love truly is unconditional.
