This is the nearest I’ve been to the 12pm deadline before sitting down to write this post. My aim is to not miss a day of writing something special this entire year, 365 days of the year, and I have only a few minutes to go on this last day of the first quarter of the year.
It was break up day for my son after the first school term today, so he invited five friends to stay the weekend. That meant this afternoon we were busy preparing for another five bodies to be fed and go to bed warm and tight.
Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t have five extra beds, but between by my brother and sister there are enough stretchers, sleeping bags and pillows to accommodate the whole lot. And it seems that they are happy to be squeezed in like sardines in my son’s room.
The best part though, was that some of the moms joined me for a glass of wine as they dropped their boys this afternoon. A glass of wine turned into supper, which turned into a long chat around kitchen table including moms and boys.
The most unexpected, unplanned, enjoyable evening I’ve had in ages, leaving me with a couple of minutes to go in order not to miss a post of magic a day.
